Happy clients are the most important aspect that makes a salon business successful. Services offered to clients’ plays a key role to get them in the door, but if they are not relaxed, comfortable and receiving the best services, they will not come back.   • Make your clients feel important: Remember that there are a lot of salons competing with you. What makes your salon stand out? It’s not enough to just provide the services, such as haircuts, styling or manicures, you need to make an impression on each and every client. Greet them by name. If they wish to talk, chat about them and show an interest or chat about local events or news. Keep in mind that many may just want to sit back and relax instead of talk.   • Ask the clients: Make sure you understand what the client is looking for in their requested service. You can add in your opinions on current trends, but many may have their own ideas. Do not make assumptions and be very clear about what each client is looking for.
  • Consider the salon look: An elegant salon may attract certain clients; a fun and playful salon may attract others. Consider your clientele and who your target market is. Decorate the salon interior, including walls, mirrors and reception area based on your target. At the same time, it is equally essential to purchase the right equipment to match the rest of the salon. Consider the usage of lighter wall paints, multiple mirrors, lightening and more to reach your desired look.
  • Stay Focused: While buying salon equipment, consider the services that you are offering. If you are offering make up services, then buy related equipment, such as make up style chairs. For hair services, buy hair styling chairs, hair dryers & steamers, and shampoo chairs for your salon. Just make sure to do research before buying equipment related to your salon services. Buying the wrong type of equipment can easily take you off budget.
